Greene Grape Provisions: Just Us, or a Bait and Switch with Pricing
July 9, 2008When Greene Grape Provisions opened, I remember thinking how nicely priced everything was, overall. But each time I go, it seems less reasonable. No joke, they tried to charge me over $3 for one plum recently, and $4 for a baguette.

Thanks.

Excuse Us for not posting regularly…
February 11, 2008…but of the two people who run this blog, the more reliable one has fled to Argentina. Still not sure why. Ft. Greene is an awfully nice place…

Bookstore for Clinton Hill?
January 30, 2008I hope Clinton Hill gets its rumored bookstore, and I hope that the eventual location is in close proximity to Fort Greene. I know that conventional wisdom says indie bookstores can’t make it anymore, but I also know a large number of people in the neighborhood who would help this new store prove that theory wrong.

Gnarly Vines, Not Just for Winos
January 25, 2008Tonight, Gnarly Vines is hosting Ignacio Carballido as he offers tastings of Mezcal — an underappreciated liquor from Mexico. In keeping with the general theme, they’ll also be serving chips and salsa. 6-9pm.
